Join us on an exhilarating speed boat ride searching for dolphins off the Cascais coast! It is an unforgettable holiday experience!
As well as the possibility of seeing wild dolphins in their natural habitat this tour also offers magnificent views over the coast and the city and the excitement of a speedboat adventure.
The most commonly seen dolphins in the Cascais area are Atlantic bottle nosed dolphins, they like many visitors to our country, are fond of Portuguese sardines and temperate waters!
Often the dolphins can be seen in pods of 20 or 30 but we have seen groups of up to 60 dolphins in the past.
Dolphin sightings cannot be guaranteed as they are wild and free to come and go as they please but there is about an 80% success rate. In between dolphin spottings, the natural beauty and drama of the coast is sure to keep you entertained.
The Cascais dolphin watching tour uses a semi-rigid RIB. These are ideal for dolphin watching as they are very manouvreable so the skipper can easily position the boat to ensure you get a great view. They are fast but very stable boats- it is the same model used by the lifeboat and emergency services. The boat has an especially quiet and efficient motor running on unleaded petrol in order to minimise pollution and disruption to the dolphins and other marine life.
The dolphin watching tour is carried out with the utmost respect and consideration to the dolphins letting the dolphins approach should they wish to and being careful not to disturb or distress them.
The Cascais dolphin tour lasts approximately 2 hours and takes a maximum of 12 people. It costs €40pp for adults and €30pp for children aged 5 to 12 years. Special offer for groups of 4 people: €140.
The RIB is also available to charter for other sightseeing cruises and transfers.
