Lisbon is a lively, cosmopolitan city with a fascinating history. On a half day bike tour you can experience the city it’s atmosphere and culture, it’s character, people and tastes, see the highlights and hidden corners alike. Cycling gives you the freedom to feel closer and observe more than on a bus tour and explore futher than on a walking tour. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the views and stop for photos and every now and then there’ll be a stop for the guides to tell you more about life in Lisbon and it’s history or to try typical Portuguese pastries or ginginha the famously sweet but strong local liquor! The Lisbon bike tours follow an easy route partly downhill and partly along the flat water front where the Tagus river meets the Atlantic ocean. We won’t make you climb Lisbon’s famous seven hills so this tour is suitable for everyone and kids are welcome.Historical Lisbon Bike Tour
This three and a half hour tour through the heart of historical Lisbon starts from Parque Eduardo VII and takes in Praça Marquês do Pombal, Restauradores, Rossio, Praça da Figueira, Praça do Comércio and the picturesque docks before finishing up in Belem with its famous palace, monument to the discoveries and Torre de Belem from where the mariners of old sailed off to discover the New World. This tour costs €/person on a public tour.
Petiscos Bike Tour
This tour is also three and a half hours long and combines the historic highlights including Marquês de Pombal, Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores and Largo de São Domingos where we stop to enjoy a Ginginha, the traditional local liquor, then it’s on to Rossio and the Castle of S.Jorge where you will have the chance to taste two different wines and tuck into local cheese and chorizo sausage. Cycling on the next stop is for dessert- a typical Portuguese pastry, then the tour carries on past the docks and 25 de Abril bridge and ending in Belem with stops outside the palace, monument and tower. €/person on a public tour.
Full Day tour
The full day tour was designed primarily with cruise line clients in mind who’d like to get the most out of a one day stopover in Lisbon and enjoy a fun day out with our knowledgeable guides. It combines the historical bike tour with an afternoon exloring Belem by foot with our guide. We’ll ensure you’re back onboard ontime just let us know your itinerary
For large groups we also offer a combined Lisbon bike and boat tour: combining the bike tour with a cruise in a powerful and exciting RIBs (Rubber Inflatable Boats) either upriver to Lisbon’s famous bridges, the 25th April bridge and the Vasco da Gama bridge or downriver past the ancient fortresses built to defend Lisbon from Atlantic attacks.

Monsanto Woodland Bike Tour
Monsanto is 900 hectares of woodland close to Lisbon city centre. The trails meandering through the mediterranean pines, cork and oak trees are ideal for mountain biking and there are superb views over the city and river. The half day tour is a great way to relax in the peace and quiet of nature after spending time in the hustle and bustle of Lisbon. During the tour the guide will explain the history of the park and it’s geology, flora and fauna. This tour is €pp and includes a traditional pastry at the end.
It can be possible to combine the Monsanto ride with a bike tour of Lisbon itself to make a full day tour.
Sintra Bike Tours
Explore the romantic surroundings of Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage site and jewel in Portugal’s crown! Just a short drive from Lisbon you will find superb woodland trails with dramatic granite boulders and superb views over the coast and the fairytale castles and palaces. You can choose between an easy, picturesque mostly flat and downhill tour on asphalt or a more hilly, offroad mountain bike tour designed for regular cyclists who appreciate more of a challenge! We will pick you up from Lisbon. These are full day tours that include a visit to the beautiful Guincho beach and costs €pp.
Arrabida Mountain Bike Tour
The protected Arrabida natural park lies about an hour south of Lisbon. It is a fantastic spot for mountain biking with a landscape of towering limestone cliffs, vineyards, ancient scrubland and farms just waiting to be explored. We’ll pick you up in Lisbon and stop for winetasting at one of the region’s renowned vineyards on the way home. This is a full day tour and can be combined with sea kayaking if desired.It costs €pp or €pp for a bike and kayak tour.
