This tour visits Porto’s most iconic and photographed places with an emphasis on the World Heritage Sites! Porto Bites and Sights Tour
This city is not only gorgeous but it is also delicious! We will show you the best of Porto’s famous sights with some tastings of Porto’s best food & wine specialties. Throughout this Porto city tour we’ll explore some of the city’s most beautiful places, as well as popular taverns, markets, and cafes.
We’ll begin this food tour with a typically Portuguese habit: a coffee accompanied by a “pastel de Nata” (egg tart pastry). From there, we’ll taste and talk about the 1001 ways to prepare “bacalhau” (codfish). We’ll also talk about the influence of our former colonies in our culture and cuisine. Along the way you’ll sample local liquor “Eduardinho” . You’ll also get to try specialties like “punheta de bacalhau” (codfish) or ”tripas (tripes) à moda do Porto”;. The Chamuça (samosa) and its mysterious recipe that we brought from India. And finally, one of the most typical dishes of Porto – the Francesinha.
All cafes sell it, but most aren’t very good – we’ll show you the best place in the city to get it. The secret is in the sauce, and we only go to a place that uses the original recipe. Trust us, we know where the best Porto food is at! We’ll finish off the tour with a toast with the nectar of gods – Port wine!
