The sunny Algarve is synonymous with getting wet and wild and it is a hot spot for watersports of all sorts!

Here is a selection of our favourite Algarve watersports, all available with expert instruction. Let's kick off with some high adrenaline options:

Flyboarding

Come and try one of the craziest, most exhilarating new watersports! Swim like a dolphin or surf the sky! A jet pack propels you and your board through and up and out of the water. So you fly up into the air before landing once more in the water. Incredibly fun and easier than it might look.

Wake boarding

The Algarve has great conditions for wake boarding including a fantastic custom built wake board and wake skate park with 2 cable systems, 4 towers and 5 obstacles with onsite cafe and pro-shop, rentals available. Rides from €20pp and rentals from €7pp.

Coasteering

Coasteering is all about pitting your body against the natural obstacles of the coast! Following the curve of the coast you could find yourself swimming, leaping, scrambling, rapelling and wading. With a spectacular coastline and sea caves to be explored you'll see sides to the coast that are hidden from less adventurous visitors! A fantastic adventure from €35pp.

Kite surfing

Did you know that in the summer the Algarve has some of the best conditions for learning this most iconic extreme watersport? A sheltered, warm water estuary is the ideal place for lessons and our instructors teach to strict IKO safety standards. The coast is also popular with experienced kitesurfers and regularly hosts international competitions. Equipment rental and more advances level lessons are available.

Surfing in the Algarve

Some watersports never go out of fashion and we can arrange surfing lessons and surfaris all across the Algarve. There are a wide range of surfing spots to choose from and excellent conditions for surfing all year round. Enjoy the full heat of the sun or make the most of off season sunshine and quieter beaches from October to May. Algarve Stand Up Paddle Tours

Stand up paddle (or SUP) is ideal as a gentler introduction to watersports and an amazing family or holiday adventure. SUP allows you to get to the hidden corners of the Algarve: inside dramatic sea caves, along little travelled rivers and to the tranquillity of lakes where you'll feel a million miles away from the bustle of the coast. Easy to learn and family friendly, it is one of the fastest growing watersports in the world! Guided tours from €35pp.

Sea kayaking

One of our most popular ocean based adventures! It is an ideal way to get up close and personal with some of the coast's most memorable features from the world famous sea caves to the quiet of the islands and inlets of the Ria Formosa wetlands nature reserve. No previous kayaking experience is required and kids are welcome. From €30pp.
