Join one of our Alentejo Getaway Trips! Looking for some peace and relaxation? Would you like to explore the best the Alentejo has to offer?  Coming out with children? These multi activity breaks combine accommodation at a lovely farm guesthouse with fun activities and the chance to explore the historic and beautiful Alentejo.

Our packages are suitable for all ages – kids are welcome and love being on the farm! We let them participate in farm like by feeding the sheep and the chickens, taking the dogs for a walk or even learning about the vegetable gardens! These holidays can run all year round with a minimum of 2 guests.

These tours combine accommodation at our lovely guesthouse, set in the countryside, with a combination of several different tours.

Your kids will love our farm, and will surely delight in feeding the sheep and the chickens, taking the dogs for a walk or even learning about vegetable gardens! Read your book under a tree and let us get them participating in farm life! The perfect package for families!

Day 1: Arrival and check in, followed by dinner on the farm

Day 2: Self guided cycling: a full or half day tour- it’s up to you. The tour is along an eco trail that follows the route of an old railway. The trail is only open to cyclists and pedestrians and takes you though quiet countryside and farm land. Take a picnic and enjoy the tranquility of nature. There are also possible detours to a local lake or a traditional hamlet.

Day 3: Canoeing and jeep tour: leaving the farm in the morning, after a delicious breakfast,our knowledgeable, local guide will take you by jeep along winding country lanes and dirt roads. As you go you can learn a lot about the local agriculture of cork trees, and olive oil production along the way. Arriving at the river for canoeing looking out for the local herons, storks and ducks.On the way back we’ll drop you off in Évora, where you can have lunch and spend the afternoon visiting the lovely city. We will pick you up later.

Day 4: Check out

Day 4: Walking Tour: A beautiful walk through farmland and along the aqueduct of Évora (half day). We can walk to Évora (8 kms) or, if you would prefer do a shorter, circular walk near the farm. The afternoon is free to enjoy the pool, visit the city or, if you have a car, visit one of the many gorgeous villages around Évora.

Day 5: Free day: We’d recommend a trip to Monsaraz medieval village- well worth a visit!

Day 6: A day on the farm:  Today we have many surprises for you! We will start by learning about the aromatic herbs that grow in our farm, which are used for many of our traditional dishes! Then we will plant a tree, which will be your land mark at the farm and your reason to come back. You can’t forget to water it tomorrow!

This will be followed by an archery tournament, which with the help of the instructor can be done with kids from 4 years old.

Adults: If there are no children in the party we can arrange a lesson in cooking traditional Alentejo food on this day if you prefer.

Day 7: Megalithic Tour: a jeep and walking tour exploring the Alentejo’s many megalithic monuments with the most ancient monument dating from 5000 BC! The tour can be done primarily by jeep or can include lots of nice walks- the choice is yours.

Day 1: Arrival: Pick up at the airport not included but can be arranged. Overnight in Lisbon (dinner not included)

Day 2: Lisbon Bike Tour: We will take you to our secret spots, suggest the best places to eat and share with you our ancient and exciting legacy. It is the perfect tour, all downhill and flat, for those who just want to relax and enjoy this Mediterranean atmosphere. We will cover the major historical areas and tell you about some of the small corners of this cosmopolitan and vibrant city.

Day 3: Sintra Mountain Bike Tour: The trails of Sintra Natural Park offers superb bike riding among dense forests and with astonishing sea views. On this tour, you will see and experience the World Heritage of Sintra in a way very few visitors do: not only you will visit the village with its old palaces and manor houses but also the natural and exotic environment that surrounds it!

Day 4: Arrabida Hiking Tour: The mountain hiking trails of Arrábida Natural Park follow a true Mediterranean environment mixing vineyards, cork tree forests and dramatic views over steep limestone cliffs. On this tour, you will experience this special, unique and picturesque atmosphere. You will be involved by an outstanding nature with great ocean views yet not missing the rich history of this, once a Moor state. Arrábida Natural Park is one of the Portuguese jewels and a wonderful place for outdoors.

Day 5: Evora Bike and Hike Tour: This walk along the fantastic Silver Water Aqueduct, a 16th century engineering work of art, will reach a beautiful traditional Alentejo country houseAlong the way the small farms and aromatic herbs that grow by the aqueduct will keep you company. At the farmhouse it’s time to stop for a drink and pick up the bikesThe return to Évora is made through an easy ecotrail, a traffic free green lane. Downhill, no effort! Getting in to town we’ll take you through Évora’s unique historical centreand follow the aqueduct inside the city walls, through the narrow and white streets.
