Azores Dolphin and Whale Watching

Join our Azores Dolphin and Whale Watching tours! The power, beauty and grace of whales and dolphins have long captured people’s imagination and Portugal is a great place to see them. We support dolphin and whale conservation and believe that dolphins and whales belong in their natural habitat and that the best way to see them is in the wild! Why see captive dolphins when you can see them living as nature intended!

DEPARTURE/RETURN LOCATION Azores (Sao Miguel and Pico)
DEPARTURE TIME Dependent on the location

One of the most fascinating and memorable experiences you can have in the Azores is to watch wild whales and dolphins surfacing, diving, feeding and going about their every day lives.

The warmth of the gulf stream attracts dolphins and whales and other sea life to the Azores. Of a total of 80 species of whales that inhabit our planet, 24 choose the Azores for reproduction, rest and feeding. This makes the Azores one of the best places in the world to see wild whales and dolphins.

Dolphin and Whale Watching – Our dolphin and whale watching trip in a RIB from Funchal that lasts around 2.5 hours with expert guides to help you make the most of your trip. We also run swimming with dolphin trips which are an absolutely amazing experience. These trips are out at sea interacting with wild dolphins who are free to come and go as they please but dolphins are friendly, curious creatures and generally enjoy swimming with you. Each of the trips starts with a short briefing in our offices in the marina to help you get the most out of your trip and learn a little about the dolphins, whales and other wildlife you may meet. You then head out with a marine biologist as your guide to answer any questions you may have and help you spot and identify the dolphins and whales. If you go out on this boat and don’t see any dolphins and whales on your trip you can join us for a second trip for free. Usually we do see them but to be on the safe side its best to book your trip for early in your holiday so you can take advantage of your free second trip if necessary. The cost of the trips are as follows: Dolphin and whale watching

Adults and over 12: €50

Children 6-11 years: €35
