Our camp is located just 60 kms north of Lisbon, with easy access.
Transportation services are available, but parents and teachers are welcome to bring over their youngsters and visit our facilities! We guarantee security and comfort right from arrival to departure.

SAFETY STANDARDS
The wellbeing and safety of our guests is one of our main priorities. We offer a fully equipped infirmary covered by Portuguese Red Cross professionals, available throughout your stay. We are also located only 5 minutes away from the nearest Health Care Centre and 20 minutes from the District Hospital of Santarém. Our camp is regularly inspected as part of our internal health and safety audit program, so we are scrupulous with our methods and always improving year to year.
STAFF
Our Staff is selected through a rigorous recruitment process, allowing us to have a trustworthy team, fluent in several languages and with all essential values and principles needed to work with children and teenagers. Their soundness and maturity, the commitment to be a strong role model, and the ability to provide positive and caring relationships will ensure your child’s stay is a memorable one!
USEFUL TIPS FOR PREARING YOUR CHILD
– Encourage your child’s independence whenever possible. Let him / her have a sleepover at a friend’s house or even a weekend at their grandparents’. This will be a perfect exercise for them;
– Don’t let him/her know you’re feeling anxious or worried;
– Talk to him/her enthusiastically about this subject. Have in mind that he/she will benefit a lot from this experience;
– Suggest a friend to join him / her on this adventure. He/She will later remember it and will have a lot of fun stories to share;
– Homesickness? Yes, it’s very natural and even healthy. This will be a good exercise for him/her to overcome this feeling in the future. He/she will value more everything she has. Help him/her not to give up on the holiday camp. Don’t bribe him/her, the reward will come with renewed self-confidence and independence;
– Send him/her, in her bag, a personal item (ex.: teddy bear, or a blanket) if necessary;
– Don’t feel guilty for sending him/her in this adventure. Remember that this is a big step on your child’s growth and a complement on his/her education. He/she will appreciate it!
– Feel free to speak to the camp director or the responsible monitor whenever necessary.
Where is the camp located?
Camp is located near Cartaxo, in the district of Santarém. From Lisbon, it is about 60 km so very close by!
What’s the appropriate age to sign up my children to a holiday camp?
Only parents are really equipped to answer that specific question. In knowing your child, you will also know how they deal with separation from parents. If you have any doubts, it is always better to wait another year before making this decision. However, in our opinion we think that the sooner your child participates the better will be for an easier adaptation. Our programs are created for children between 6 and 17 years old, and are always adapted to the age group.
How can I book my child’s holiday camp?
You can request a booking form. All bookings are registered by reservation order. With this in mind, we advise you to book as soon as possible so you can assure your child’s enrolment in our holiday camps.
Payment Methods
We request an 18% deposit for booking. Payment can be made by one of the following methods:
- Paypal (6% convenience fee applied)
- Transferwise
- Bank transfer
The remaining payment may be made up to 2 weeks prior to arrival
What if I have to cancel my booking in your holiday camp? Will there be any refund?
For holiday camps cancellations:
- 30 days prior to the beginning of the holiday camp – no refund
- 30 and 45 days prior to the beginning of the holiday camp – 50% refund;
*There are of course situations that are unavoidable and we are flexible in looking into your specific reason for cancelling
How is the holiday camp organized?
Our team consists of a camp director, team leaders and coordinators and our staff monitors.
Our staff monitors team is responsible for all the camp’s dynamic, activities and basic care of your child. Each staff monitor is responsible for a group of participants, based on their age group. Every monitor has the proper training as well as proven experience in holiday camps. Our team is carefully selected and prepared to assure the well-being of your child.
Our kitchen staff team is responsible for preparing and serving the meals and cleaning, and maintenance of the facilities.
Do your Staff Monitors have training?
Each year we organize intern training for holiday camp monitors. We have a permanent cohesive and strong team, although we are receptive to newcomers. All our Staff Monitors work in many specific fields of expertise, such as: arts, sports, music, drama, psycho-pedagogy and other. All of them are carefully evaluated and tested, as they must deliver their CV, criminal record and medical certificate in order to be able to join our team.
How can I contact my child during the holiday camp?
Our contact time is stipulated by our Team Leader/Coordinator. This contact time is usually between 14:00 and 15:00. During this time, parents can contact their children through their personal cell phone or through their group monitor. All of My Camp’s contacts will be given to parents and tutors on the first day or previously sent by e-mail.
What does my child have to bring?
We suggest that your child bring comfortable clothes and shoes (sportswear) for our outdoor activities; and warm clothes for evening activities. On the last evening of our holiday camp, we organize a Gala Evening and for that purpose we recommend more formal clothes, which will only be used on that evening. Your child must bring:
- bathing suit;
- pool towel;
- flip-flops;
- hat;
- sun screen;
- insect repellent;
- personal hygiene items (shampoo, shower gel, tooth brush and tooth paste, etc.).
And what can’t he/she bring?
We not allow any kind of electronic devices (iPad, eBooks, iPods, ..) and / or valuable items. We want your child to enjoy his / her moments of free time with other participants to socialize and make new friends. It is strictly forbidden to bring lighters, fire-works, videogames, etc. It is also forbidden to smoke and bring alcoholic beverages into camp. We also don’t advise our participants to bring expensive branded clothes, since they may get damaged during the activities. We will not accept any responsibility for damaged items, lost items or theft during your child’s stay.
Where will my child sleep?
Our accommodations are in a bunkbed regime where each room has its own private bathroom. All participants are divided by gender and age groups. Once a week the group will be able to camp out in tents, within our grounds.
Do you have insurance?
Our insurance is required by the 629/04 Portuguese Decree. All holiday camp organizing entities are obliged to celebrate a personal and group accident insurance contract.
Our insurance coverage details:
- Death, for 14 years old or older participants;
- Permanent disability;
- Treatment expenses;
- Funeral expenses.
How can parents visit?
Parents and tutors can visit our Quinta, by requesting an appointment, before holiday camps begin, or on the first day. However, we strongly advise to avoid visiting during camp, as this may compromise your child’s integration and consolidation of his / her bonding. Nevertheless, parents may book a day and time to visit their child if they so wish. Only parents (or someone designated by them), with proper identification, will be allowed to take their children outside My Camp’s facilities.
What happens if things don’t go well?
Yes… sometimes these things do happen. Homesickness, losing a personal item, having a disagreement with a friend, are only a few of many issues that may upset your child. Your collaboration will be essential to work through this with his/her monitor helping your child to overcome these issues for the sake of his/her wellbeing and happiness on the camp.
How is the beginning and departure of the holiday camp arranged?
Participants arrive on Sunday between 15:00 and 18:00. On the first day your child will meet his / her monitors and will clarify doubts and answer all questions. The end of our holiday camps is on Saturday at 11:00. During the morning we will give diplomas and prizes to all participants.
Do I need to give money to my child?
We have an on site Store where your child can buy gifts (wristbands, t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, etc.) and also candies, ice-creams, cookies. We recommend that you give your child money in an envelope, with her name, that will be delivered to the monitors on the first day of the camp.
Do I have to take and bring my child to and from camp?
It is important for parents and tutors to join their children on the first day of the holiday camp, as we do give out important information. However, we’re aware that many children travel alone, therefore we have our own Transportation Service, that can welcome your children at the Airport and bring them to My Camp. In this case we will communicate with you via email and send more details
