Our Horse Riding Central Portugal Tours are a great way to explore the countryside! Our rides and lessons take place at our own Lusitano breeding ranch! We’re just 40 minutes away from the center of Lisbon and it’s quite easy to reach us! Furthermore, if you do not have a car, we can help you with public transportation options and even transfers! Get to know the beautiful Luisitano horses and how they are bred! All riding levels welcome!

Horse Riding Central Portugal programs offer a full range of riding for all! Enjoy half day treks through the countryside! Try our full day trek with a visit to a bull ranch! Or better yet, a full day trek with wine tasting! Our full day treks all include traditional portuguese lunch! We believe in creating memorable programs in which you can experience the best of Lusitano riding!

Afternoon Riding

The program begins with a visit to the stud facilities, where you can learn more about the different aspects of horse breeding and meet some of the horses before heading out for a ride or a lesson. The horses chosen for the rides are all pure bred Lusitanos. €50 per person

1 Day & Wine Tasting

On this day long programme you will ride through beautiful countryside, with a stop at Vale dos Fornos, a local wine producer, for a delicious lunch followed by a wine tasting session. €156 per person. Or a half day ride and wine tasting for €85 per person (minimum 4 people)

1 Day & Bull Ranch Visit

Enjoy a scenic ride to Quinta do Gaio, the local bull breeder. This visit includes a traditional lunch followed by a tractor ride through the fields where you can see the bulls. €165 per person – Enjoy a scenic ride to Quinta do Gaio, the local bull breeder. Take time out to improve your riding at this horse stud and riding centre which specialises in breeding and training quality Lusitano dressage horses. Approximately 35 minutes drive from Lisbon, it is set in a beautiful, rural location at the heart of horse country – you can also take the train which takes about 40 minutes! During your stay you can combine general riding or dressage lessons with ride outs in the countryside, learn more about the Lusitanobreed and Portuguese equestrian culture and enjoy exploring the stud.

Accommodation is at a 14th century quinta set amongst 400 hectares of cork oak and eucalyptus plantations. The quinta has 6 two bedroom apartments and 1 one bedroom apartment and you are assured of a warm Ribatejan welcome!

We can offer all inclusive packages for €300 per day. These rates include accommodation, all meals and riding (usually twice a day). Please note there is a 90kg weight limit for riding the Lusitanos, larger horses are also available for experienced riders.
