The RALLY-RAID PORTUGAL SERIES 2018 will be based on 5 events running from March to December 2018. This championship is organized by the Portuguese Motorcycle Federation (FMP)” and the clubs selected by FMP, with the support of the R3 Roadbook Rally Raid.

The Concept

Based on the FIM and FIA model and respecting all roadbook navigation principals used in the World Championship and Rally Dakar, R3 aims to be a reference of quality and precision that allows all participants an authentic roadbook navigation experience.

Open to Motorbikes, Quads and SSV, the R3 events are suitable for everyone, from the most experienced riders (who wants to practice for an official race) to the beginners (aiming to be challenged on road book navigation). For this reason participants have the choice to register in 2 different categories: (RACE and HOBBY). The RACE category will host 3 special classes: PROMOTION, VETERANS and WOMEN.

Rally-Raid Portugal Series Registration 2018

There are 2 different categories you can register in:

  • RACE – This category include timed sections. The final result is your time on the crono sections + speed penalties + missed track section penalties (all converted into a timed result).

Besides the scratch results, there will be a special classification for the classes PROMOTION, VETERANS and WOMEN racing under the rules of this category.

  • HOBBY – designed for those wanting to learn how to navigate, the results are only based on distance (meaning excess distance due to navigation mistakes) + speed penalties + missed tracks section penalties. The hobbie class may have a shorter mileage/Km per day, and doesn’t have any timed sections.

Each event will have a separate classification counting for the 2018 Final Results.

At the end of the championship, the best 4 results will count for the final classification.

The RACE category will have a designated RALLY-RAID Champion.

The classes inside the RACE category (PROMOTION, VETERANS, WOMEN) will have a designated TROPHY Winner.

The HOBBY category will have a designated TROPHY Winner.

A rider can enter the PROMOTION class if he didn’t get a Sporting License in the last 3 years and haven’t entered any FIM event in the same períod.

A rider can enter the VETERANS class if he is at least 45 years old.

For more information about the rules please contact us.

All event’s dates include the arrival day (Friday) + 2 day stages (Saturday + Sunday).

We will run a PRE-SERIES event where you will learn the basics of Roadbook Navigation and ride 2 days (Saturday + Sunday) on a pure navigation simulation (without timed sections).
