Paiva Walkways Tour (Full day)

Get ready for one of the most beautiful riverside hikes in Europe! The Paiva Walkways follows along the Paiva River path for 8 Km! You’ll enjoy glorious views and also an unforgettable  connection with nature. Begin your day with a pick up at your hotel. Then we will drive one and half hours to the start of this great trail! Your drive to the Paiva Walkway will go by in a flash! All because our guides know the area well and, meanwhile, will teach you about life in Portugal. You’ll learn lots about our ways and traditions along the way!

The hike along the river is filled with geologic, natural and archeological highlights! In additiona, you’ll get fantastic photo opportunities! After our hike, we will stop in Alvarenga for the best meat in Portugal  – “Posta Arouquesa”. This is a delightful piece of grilled beef that will make you regain all your stamina! Finally, we will end your day with a visit to a local distillery where “Pinguça”, a great Portuguese liquor, is produced, before heading back to Porto.

1 day Peneda Geres Walking Tour

In the mountain ranges of Peneda Geres lives the last great predator of the wild Portuguese fauna, the Iberian Wolf.  The Wolf is curiously one of the most endangered species in the Iberian Peninsula. You will walk in the secret paths of a wolf pack, across wolf footprints and other evidence of their passage. The trail crosses FOJO, a monumental north Iberia construction used as a wolf hunting trap for centuries! Our expert guides will teach you about the folklore surrounding these beautiful animals and also the traditions of centuries past!

Northern Portugal Walking Tours (Peneda Geres National Park) Multiday Trips:

2 Day Central Tour (2days 1 night)

Short on time? Explore the central mountain range over two days! There will be 35kms of mountain walking at its best! The tours are designed for fit, regular walkers.  If you would prefer an easier walking tour or a tour focusing on the flora or fauna of the park we can arrange this for you! Between Portugal and Spain (2days 1 night)

A walk across the Portugal-Spain border that take us along mountain trails once walked by smugglers and generations of people accustomed to the challenges of mountain life.  From valleys with winding rivers, to sparkling clear water pools of Galician lands, this tour is breathtaking at every turn!
